The coordinators and activists of the Almaty Youth Resource Centers received both components of the coronavirus vaccine back in May. Bauyrzhan Makhanbet and Didarbek Dildabek spoke about why they decided to vaccinate themselves and why they call Almaty residents to do the same.
Bauyrzhan Makhanbet is the coordinator of the Youth Resource Center of the Nauryzbay region. The young leader said that before the pandemic, they held mass meetings with schoolchildren and student youth almost every day. Then it was possible to reach broad masses, carry out career guidance work, intellectual games and much more, uniting the Almaty youth according to their interests.
“Today, we have transferred most of the events to an online format. This is not very convenient, as students and schoolchildren miss live meetings. We have to get together in small groups and hold small events. That is why city dwellers, especially young people, need to advocate for collective health, to help create general immunity. This should be a collective responsibility, not a personal matter of everyone, ”says Bauyrzhan Makhanbet.
All family members of B. Makhanbet received coronavirus vaccinations. They approached vaccination deliberately. Bauyrzhan's example was followed by his colleagues from the Youth Resource Center.
“The sooner we form collective immunity, the sooner we can return to normal life. All spheres will work normally, and the well-being of people directly depends on this, ”the young leader believes.
Another coordinator of the Youth Resource Center of the Medeu district of Almaty, Didarbek Dildabek, was also vaccinated against coronavirus. Together with him, five children from the team received vaccinations, as well as more than 50 volunteers who will help with the population census.
Vaccinations of young activists took place at the vaccination center of the Alma City shopping center.
“In our country, there is an opportunity to protect ourselves from a dangerous virus with the help of high-quality vaccines. Fortunately, my family members and I were not sick with the coronavirus, but I have heard a lot about its course and health consequences. Even young people can hardly tolerate it. New strains are especially dangerous. I think it is necessary to think about health and get vaccinated, ”Didarbek Dildabek said.
According to the activist, there is a big event ahead of Kazakhstan - a population census, the organization's volunteers are ready to help. To avoid being at risk, all volunteer interviewers were vaccinated. Also, having a vaccination will allow you to study offline.
As of July 3, 2021, 487 736 people were vaccinated in Almaty.
Over the past day, 15,292 people were vaccinated. Of the total number of vaccinated persons over 60 years old, there are 81,202 people.
There are 211 vaccination points in the city in medical organizations, schools, at cultural and sports facilities, in markets and in the city's shopping and entertainment centers (with the possibility of increasing to 250). 304 vaccination teams of 1257 people were involved.
