In Almaty, the cases of coronavirus more than doubled: epidemiologists recommend not to neglect vaccination
The chief sanitary doctor of Almaty, Zhandarbek Bekshin, speaking at a press conference of the Regional Communications Service, said that over the past two weeks, the incidents of COVID in the metropolis has increased from 1143 to 2377 cases. The head of the sanitary-epidemiological department asked the townspeople to comply with the established restrictions in order to avoid worsening the situation.
He added, that this year over 56 thousand infected people have already been registered in the metropolis, of which 4,573 cases in June. The incidence rate for the first half of 2021 was 10 times higher than the figures for the same period last year.
According to Zh. Bekshin, 305 cases of COVID have been registered in Almaty over the past 24 hours.
“The epidemiological situation in Almaty has deteriorated since June 17 due to the spread of a more contagious mutated strain“ delta ”. Over the past week, the average daily positive PCR results have increased to 215 per day against 130 in the previous 7 days, ”said the chief sanitary doctor of the city.
