Working groups have been created in Almaty to monitor the quality of work of vaccination points and compliance with vaccination rules

A working group consisting of the Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the metropolis Zh. Bekshin and Deputy Head of the City Department of Public Health Laura Myrzagali checked the quality of work of vaccination points against COVID-19 and compliance with restrictive measures in public places.

The main goal is to increase the rate of vaccination, in order to protect the health of townspeople in the face of a worsening epidemiological situation, associated with the circulation of the Indian Delta strain, while strictly observing all the requirements of the cold chain.

Vaccination points located on the territory of clinics, shopping and entertainment centers, universities and markets in the metropolis were visited. Among them is a vaccination station at Smart Health city on the territory of KazNU named after Al-Farabi, Shopping center "Almaty Mall", Shopping center "Moscow", etc.

Attention was focused on compliance with sanitary standards at vaccination points, compliance with the cold chain regime, which affects the effectiveness of the vaccine. Working groups have been established in all districts to assess compliance with vaccination rules at 208 vaccination points.

While inspecting the activities of the vaccination center in the Almaty Mall shopping and entertainment center, therapist of the City Polyclinic No. 18, Symbat Berdibek, reported an increase in the number of people wishing to be vaccinated, which indicates an increase in the awareness of citizens about the threats of the spread of the virus and the social responsibility of Almaty residents.

“The interest from the residents is very high. Every day from 200 to 250 people come to us to get vaccinated, currently we have vaccinated about 4,000 people. Vaccines are stored in refrigerators and freezers, for example, we store Sputnik V vaccine doses at temperatures from -18 to -24 degrees Celsius , the Kazakh vaccine is stored at +2 +8 degrees Celsius, ”said therapist of City Polyclinic No. 18 Symbat Berdibek. Note, that a total of 12,275 people were vaccinated in Almaty over the past day. Over the entire period, over 450 thousand Almaty residents have been vaccinated.

The working group also visited one of the cafeterias of the city, Qaganat, during which the catering administration was given recommendations on regular disinfection of premises, adherence to social distance, and a mask regime.

As a result of the detour, Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov held an online meeting with the heads of the city's medical organizations, as well as the leadership of the district akimats on the quality of providing medical services to residents and the work of vaccination centers. District akimats , together with medical organizations, were instructed to strengthen information and explanatory work. Citizens, for example, visiting the shopping and entertainment center and Malls, should, from the moment they enter the building, be informed about the possibility of vaccination against COVID-19 and see relevant information about the importance of receiving a vaccine.

The epidemiological situation in the metropolis has become more complicated, due to the spread of the mutated delta strain, the proportion of which has reached 78%. Over the past week, the incidence of coronavirus has increased by 1.7 times. Therefore, over the past day, 253 cases of coronavirus infection have been identified. The proportion of patients with COVID with symptoms over the last week increased from 32% to 53%. These data indicate a higher pathogenicity of the strain "delta" COVID-19. According to epidemiologists, the delta strain is highly contagious and 60% more infectious than the detected strains. Research by scientists shows that the Indian strain of coronavirus is associated with a higher likelihood of hospitalization, the development of complications and deaths.

The Akimat of Almaty calls on citizens to observe the rules of epidemiological safety: wear masks, adhere to social distance, refrain from visiting crowded places. It should be noted, that the only way to protect and combat COVID is vaccination (vaccination is free).
