The akimat of Almaty is taking measures to strengthen control at the international airport and railway stations of the city
Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov, together with the Head of the Territorial Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control, Chief Sanitary Doctor of the megapolis Zh. Bekshin and the Head of the City Department of Public Health N. Tabynbaev, checked the work of sanitary and epidemiological services at the Almaty International Airport and at the city's railway stations.

During the inspection, attention was focused on the observance of the algorithm for detecting and preventing cases of the importation of infection into the territory of the metropolis. Taking into account the instructions of the Interdepartmental Commission, to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan in connection with the circulation of the "Delta" ("Indian") strain in the country, the readiness of ground services to counter the spread of coronavirus infection was checked, the functioning of infectious boxes for visiting passengers with symptoms of infection in the arrivals area.

Attention was also paid to testing through the "Ashyq" app at the airport entrance. The security service was informed that, on average, two or three passengers with a "red" status are recorded at the entrance to the airport - operational measures are being taken on these persons to prevent further spread of the infection.

On the basis of the airport, an off-site meeting of the city headquarters to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection was held with the participation of the management and representatives of the air harbor units.

According to epidemiologists, the Delta strain is highly contagious and 60% more infectious than the detected strains. Research by scientists shows that the "Indian" strain of coronavirus is associated with a higher likelihood of hospitalization and deaths.

Zh. Bekshin reported that “the symptoms of the Indian strain may differ from other, already familiar strains, for example, the sense of smell may not disappear, the condition may resemble a cold. However, if you feel unwell, you should call a doctor right away. the new strain is fleeting and dangerous. In this regard, the townspeople should not self-medicate. "

Deputy akim Y. Babakumarov instructed to strengthen measures of sanitary and epidemiological protection, including to assist in the vaccination of airport employees. Along with this, disinfection treatment of the premises, as well as the entire airport, will continue.

It should be noted, that Almaty epidemiologists do not exclude a new wave of coronavirus infection, which may be caused by the dangerous Delta strain. The Almaty city headquarters, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection calls on citizens to be vaccinated, as well as to observe the mask regime and social distance, especially in public places with a large crowd of people.
