Almaty applicants will be able to choose a college according to a new principle
Today, at the site of the Regional Communications Service, changes in the mechanism for placing government orders and admission to colleges in 2021 were discussed.
 
 
The Head of the Technical and Vocational Education Department of the Almaty city education department, Asset Mukhanbetov, said that the new mechanism is based on the "money for the student" principle.
 
In other words, the state order is placed on the basis of the actual admission to the colleges of the applicant's choice.
 
“The state order will be placed only in those colleges that have gained certain points and are competitive. Applicants wishing to get a place on the state order can choose only those colleges that are included in this list, ”said Asset Mukhanbetov, a representative of the Almaty Department of Education.
 
If earlier, colleges conducted entrance exams on their own, now the competition will be held in an automated mode according to the average competitive score.
 
That is, for admission to college, neither the UNT certificate nor the passing of entrance exams is required, except for medical, pedagogical and creative specialties.
 
According to A. Mukhanbetov, these measures will ensure the transparency of the process of receiving and placing government orders, will increase competition among colleges.
 
Another innovation was the opportunity for all school graduates to undergo professional diagnostics through the information systems of education departments. As a result, applicants will receive recommendations for obtaining a particular specialty, get acquainted with the maps of recommended professions.
 
Based on the results of professional diagnostics, applicants will choose up to 4 specialties and up to 4 colleges.
 
At the same time, the admission of applicants for working qualifications, special educational programs will be carried out of competition directly to colleges.
 

In conclusion, A. Mukhanbetov said that there are 83 secondary specialized educational institutions in Almaty, of which 22 are state ones. At the same time, in 47 colleges, students are taught by the state order. Students have the opportunity to receive a scholarship in the amount of 21 thousand tenge.
