B. Sagintayev: Improvement of public spaces is carried out taking with regard to the opinion of the townspeople
Akim of the city Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, during the live broadcast of the Akimat Live program on the TV Channel "Almaty" urged the townspeople not to make hasty conclusions on the ongoing improvement of public spaces of the metropolis.
The project provides for the transplantation of shrubs and green spaces in order to open an overview of the square and the Nedelka fountain from the side of Kabanbai Batyr and Zhambyl streets. Green spaces will be transplanted to another location within the park. The contracting organization carrying out these works provided a letter of guarantee to ensure the care of green spaces for a period of 2 years.
Work on the reconstruction of Terrenkur is being carried out on the section from the water divider to Dostyk avenue, including hydraulic structures, to Makatayev steet. The length is 8.9 km. At the moment, reconstruction of the Malaya Almatinka river embankment is underway.
Construction and installation work has been completed, the installation of sports and playgrounds is underway. A modern playground made of environmentally friendly materials will be installed at the parking site. Benches, litter bins, lighting poles and landscaping will also be installed.
B. Sagintayev noted, that at this stage, the townspeople should not make hasty conclusions about the results of the improvement of Terrenkur. All the wishes of the residents are taken into account. In terms of comfort and convenience for all citizens, this pedestrian zone should become an exemplary one in the metropolis. In general, the improvement affected the pedestrian zone up to Raiymbek avenue.
The akim of the city also stopped at the improvement of public gardens near the Kazakh National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abay. The main goal is to preserve the historical appearance, atmosphere and special spirit of this place, which is important for Almaty residents.
Now pipes are being laid to connect the Nedelka fountain, and granite paving is being laid. The chandeliers were removed from the famous arches of the fountain - they will be put in order, restored to their former historical appearance and returned to their place.
There will be no dismantling and demolition of decorative arches and granite stairs. The historical appearance of the park is planned to be restored, as an object of cultural heritage. Also, taking into account the wishes of the residents of the city, floor lamps with warm lighting, cast-iron benches and urns will be installed in the park.
