Akim of the megapolis Bakhytzhan Sagintayev spoke about the technical equipment of the police and the expansion of the video surveillance network during a live broadcast on the TV channel "Almaty".
A project of a video monitoring system is being developed, within the framework of which 3 thousand cameras will be installed in public places of the city. A mobile application "102" has been developed - now any citizen can make an online call through the application and share a broadcast about the event.
As Bakhytzhan Sagintayev emphasized, it is impossible to fight crime in modern conditions without using the latest technical developments. Therefore, special attention is paid to equipping the police.
529 new generation DVRs were purchased for police officers providing public order protection. In the near future, absolutely all police officers will be equipped with such video recorders.
Also, more than 1 thousand electronic tablets were purchased, which significantly reduced the time for processing protocols and documents. If earlier the registration of the protocol took more than 30-40 minutes, now this time has been reduced to 5-7 minutes.
Today, monitoring is carried out in the Operational Management Center of the City Police Department using 4 thousand video surveillance cameras. Since the beginning of the year, 1425 crimes have been solved with the help of cameras, 780 thousand administrative offenses have been revealed.
