B. Sagintayev: In April, 250 vaccination points were deployed in Almaty
Today, at an online press conference on the epidemiological situation in Almaty, the Akim of the city Bakhytzhan Sagintayev discussed when mass vaccination of the population would begin in the southern capital.
The akim of the metropolis added that, in general, vaccination will provide an opportunity to return to the usual way of life and will gradually ease quarantine restrictions. The vaccine is the most reliable, effective measure of disease prevention, that is, the vaccine does not cure, but protects.
According to the city akim, 250 vaccination points are planned to be deployed already in April. Including in large shopping centers.
The Public Health Administration will commit to providing these vaccination sites with the necessary medical equipment and specialists. And the calculation of financial costs will be carried out by the Strategy and Budget Department of the Akimat of Almaty.
In addition, the business community will provide support for transportation, storage, provision of premises and organization of vaccination points at no cost.
At an online press conference, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev said that in the event of mass vaccination against coronavirus, the number of people capable of infecting others will sharply decrease. Accordingly, the circulation of the virus will decrease dramatically.
B. Sagintayev said that today, the city received 21,850 doses of vaccine against the coronavirus infection. From April to June, Almaty will receive an additional 750 thousand doses of vaccine - 250 thousand doses per month.
