The akim of the metropolis, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, during a working detour, checked the readiness of the post on the Kuldzhinsky tract, equipped with a gas analyzer and opacimeter.
In his Instagram account, the akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev spoke about the installation of 19 eco-posts at the entrances to the city, two of which will begin operating soon.
“During a working detour, I visited a new ecological post installed on the Kuldzhinsky tract. Using multicomponent gas analyzers, they will check the exhaust gases of gasoline and gas vehicles for the content of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and oxygen. Diesel cars will be checked for the opacity of exhaust gases, ”wrote B. Sagintayev.
According to him, a total of 19 eco-posts will operate at the entrances to the city. The first two - on the Kuldzhinsky tract and on Bukhtarminskaya Street are being launched in a few days. During the checks in test mode, about 5 thousand cars and more than 1 thousand trucks were revealed that exceeded the toxicity standards.
Mobile environmental patrols equipped with gas analyzers and opacimeters will start working in the near future. In addition, air quality measurement stations are installed at all eco-posts with data output on an online map and LED displays.
"These measures are aimed at improving the ecology of the city and reducing the share of vehicles that pollute the atmosphere," - said the akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev.
As previously reported, the online map for monitoring environmental indicators will provide residents of the metropolis with expanded access to data on the state of the environment, including the quality of ambient air.
The project is a dynamic platform that brings together all available data on the state of the ecology of Almaty. Every 20 minutes online monitoring stations transmit information about the air condition to the system. The stations measure the volume of pollutants in the atmosphere, as well as parameters of humidity, temperature, pressure, wind direction and speed. Average values for a certain period and the average daily maximum permissible concentration (MPC) values are displayed.
The purpose of the project, implemented on behalf of the akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev, is to provide ordinary citizens, experts and specialists with data in an online format. In addition, a database will be formed, which will make it possible, based on the provided analysis, to predict changes in air quality and other parameters.
