This year 72 companies took part in the competition. The best 9 companies are recognized, which will continue to fight for the title of the best already at the republican level.

The participants of the competition, among whom were both well-known brands and startups, presented a wide range of products at the exhibition.

The organizers of the exhibition noted that this year the number of contestants who presented technological types of products and goods of the service unit increased.

In addition, Almaty’s businessmen successfully develop import-substituting production, offering consumers high-quality products at attractive prices. So the local production of greenery gradually fills the market, making a worthy competition to Israeli and Dutch products.

Welcoming entrepreneurs, B.Sagintayev noted that each of the participants of the competition makes a significant contribution to the industrial development of Almaty. More than 45 thousand people are employed at industrial enterprises of the city. Despite the difficult economic conditions and global challenges, the city’s industry this year has shown an increase of 5.3%. Only in the first half of the year, products were produced in the amount of 398.7 billion tenge.

The economy of the city as a whole is built on non-raw materials and high-tech priorities. In the industry structure, two thirds is in the manufacturing industry.

“Many things we can do ourselves. 40% of the city's GRP falls on small and medium businesses, 50% of taxes come from you. We are ready to support any of your undertakings. Bring your suggestions, suggest where there are flaws, difficulties and problems, ” Almaty’s governor addressed entrepreneurs.

For the first 5 months of 2019, investment in fixed assets of the manufacturing industry amounted to 14.1 billions tenge.

“We intend to further support the development of entrepreneurship with a focus on increasing labor productivity, export orientation and innovative development. Today, we urge entrepreneurs to create new products, improve their quality, and invest in modernization and technological re-equipment, ”B.Sagintayev said.

He noted that city entrepreneurs receive state support within the framework of the Industrialization Map, the Business Road Map, and the Zhybek Zholy regional program. Local manufacturers are provided with state orders.

This autumn, the VII International Innovation and Investment Forum Almaty Invest 2019 will be held, where it is planned to discuss infrastructure conditions and other tools to support the special economic zone, and it is also planned to demonstrate the developments of domestic innovators.
