Today at a briefing at the site of the regional communications service, Elvira Ibragimova, acting Deputy Director for Infection Control at the Central City Clinical Hospital of the Almaty City Public Health Department, spoke about the progress of vaccination in the metropolis.
“We have completed the first stage of vaccination, which began on February 1st. 1,624 medical personnel received two components of the Sputnik-V preparation. The second stage began on March 1, another 10,800 doses were delivered to Almaty. 39 city polyclinics are involved in the vaccination process. In the first week, health workers from the "risk zone" received vaccinations. On February 10, we began vaccinating teachers and law enforcement officers. So far, 658 police officers and 310 workers of the education system have received vaccines in 33 primary health care organizations, ”she said.
According to the speaker, over 16 thousand doses of vaccines will be received after Nauryz, students and other persons will be vaccinated.
Elvira Ibragimova also answered the question about antibodies.
“Antibodies are formed on the 42nd day. Clinical trials are underway. According to the manufacturer's information, immunity lasts from one to two years. If a person is ill, then he can be vaccinated six months after recovery, ”she explained.
At the same time, the speaker emphasized that the protection of the vaccine is high and even in case of infection, the disease will proceed in a milder form than in people who have not been vaccinated. However, it is necessary to continue to wear masks and maintain social distance.
“Considering the fact that this infection is new for all of us, even after vaccination, we recommend wearing masks and observing all preventive measures,” she said.
