At the meeting on the development of the sphere of passenger transportation, held under the chairmanship of the Akim of Almaty Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, issues of updating public transport, solving the shortage of personnel and improving road safety were considered.
In order to improve the environment, the problem of replacing diesel buses with gas ones is being gradually solved. Diesel buses will be switched to commuter routes. The complete replacement is planned to be completed by 2025.
Today, 352 gas-fueled buses, 1,373 diesel-powered, 14 electric-powered, 160 trolleybuses operate daily on the routes. 1.1 million transactions are made on all types of public transport every day.
This year, private carriers are planning to purchase 246 buses running on environmentally friendly fuels. Of these, 208 - on gas, 38 - on electric traction.
In addition, the delivery of the remaining batch of 150 buses of LLP "Almatylectrotrans" is expected in the near future. To ensure uninterrupted fuel supply, the fleet has put into operation its own gas station.
To solve the problem of the shortage of drivers in LLP "Almatylectrotrans", social and living conditions are being created, in particular, meals are organized, uniforms are purchased. Bonuses are paid for incentives. This makes it possible to solve the problem of a lack of driver and service personnel. In February alone, 100 drivers were recruited. Another 400 people will be recruited in the next two months.
Last month, 100 buses were repaired, in the next three months another 90 are planned to be commissioned, and by the end of the year - an additional 100 units. These measures will improve the quality of traffic and increase the number of routes served. Control over the work of drivers is carried out through the dispatch service. A pilot project “Quality Service” will be launched on selected routes of "Almatyelectrotrans".
To reduce the number of accidents involving public transport, the akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev ordered to install video surveillance cameras in all buses. Today, 20% of buses of private carriers are left without a video surveillance system.
At the same time, the Police Department, together with interested government agencies, was instructed to strengthen the responsibility of the heads of vehicle fleets for the release of technically faulty vehicles and drivers on the line for violation of traffic rules and norms of behavior with passengers.
Summing up the results of the meeting, the akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev gave instructions to work on a daily basis to improve the quality and safety of passenger traffic. It is necessary to increase the level of digitalization and the introduction of new technologies in the management of vehicle fleets. He also instructed to strengthen control over the activities of private car fleets and maintain public transport stops in good condition.
