B. Sagintayev: A city-wide project has been adopted to reduce the staff shortage in the medical organizations of Almaty
The board, chaired by the akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev, considered the results of the implementation of the state health development program for 2020-2025 in the city, the issues of reducing the overall, maternal and child mortality, solving the personnel shortage and tasks for the coming period.

More than 2 million people are attached to medical organizations in Almaty, of which 28.5% are children under 18 years of age. Medical services, within the framework of the guaranteed volume of medical care, are provided by 74 medical organizations, subordinate to the Department of Public Health, 13 republican and more than 90 private medical organizations.

As it was noted at the meeting, the main task of the health care system is to improve the quality and availability of medical care. Within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Healthcare, the planned values for 21 out of 24 targets and indicators have been achieved.

In this regard, the Akim of Almaty Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, instructed to take measures to achieve targets and indicators in 2021, as well as implement an action plan to reduce overall mortality. Particular attention should be paid to the containment and prevention of maternal and infant mortality. At the same time, the work of the department of protection of mothers and children, Primary healthcare, prenatal clinics and obstetric organizations will be strengthened.

Today, more than 6 thousand doctors and about 13 thousand paramedical staff work in the state medical organizations of the megapolis. The active construction of infectious diseases hospitals, multidisciplinary clinics and family medical outpatient clinics has raised the issue of staff shortage.

The need of the city's medical organizations is about 590 doctors - anesthesiologists, pulmonologists, cardiologists, neuropathologists and others, as well as about 300 mid-level workers.

Considering that new hospitals and polyclinics will be opened in the coming years, the akim of the city B. Sagintayev instructed to adopt a citywide project to reduce the personnel deficit. The action plan takes into account the involvement of universities and colleges with the aim of employing graduates and improving the qualifications of health workers. Included are incentive mechanisms such as KPI performance assessment, allowances and social security, including the provision of an opportunity to purchase housing under preferential city programs.

The collegium defined the tasks of developing the city's health care system for the next period. Summing up the results of the meeting, the akim of Almaty B. Sagintayev emphasized that the city will provide full support in this, since the health of citizens is the first priority in the work of the akimat.
