Among the laureates of the first global Kazakhstani prize are Almaty residents who have proved themselves in difficult situations.
The akim of Almaty Bakhytzhan Sagintayev took part in the ceremony.
B. Sagintayev noted that the heroes live among us, and the Adam Bol Awards allows us to show them to the whole world.
"Each of the laureates of the award is worthy of respect and serves as an example of service to society, self-sacrifice and courage," said B. Sagintayev, akim of Almaty.
Among the laureates is also an Almaty resident, animal rights activist Sergey Snegirev. He pulled 22 dogs out of a burning hangar, but he himself ended up in the hospital, breathing carbon monoxide.
The first global Kazakhstani Adam Bol Awards is dedicated to people who have proven, by true example, that there is always a place for heroism in life. In our surprisingly difficult time, when pseudo-heroes with their pseudo-values are trying to create a new reality, the question of true heroism and the nature of real heroism becomes especially relevant.
