Almaty city’s governor met with deputy of secretary general of the public transport ‘s international union

According to the speech of the deputy of secretary general of the public transport ‘s international union that many people often consider the public transport as the social service, but according to the latest research that for each dollar invested for the development of public transport we can have four dollars.

“While constructing one km of public transport system there will be working places for 4 times more than usual. Therefore, there is an advantage not for only people but also for the city’s authority and for the business.

In the meeting Mohamed Mezghani mentioned the complex approach in the realization of transport reform in Almaty : an organization of distinguished line for public transport, the modern paid parkings, the bike paths, the pedestrian areas and the metro construction and etc.

“In many countries during the realization of transport reform, it comes across with the lack of time and the deficit of qualified specialists. Our role is to help the members of organization for the decisions of these questions.

The mayor one of the city once told that the rich country was not the country where the poor people had the automobiles but it’s the country where the rich people used the public transport.” added Mohamed Mezghani

He also invited the delegation to Almaty to take part in the work of public transport’s international union’s summit which would be in Monreal( Canada) in May in order to get introduced with the technologies and innovations closer in the sphere of stable development of transport system.
