The Almaty city’s governor met with the delegation from Switzerland

Both sides discussed the issuesof strengthening trade, economic and cultural connections. According to Marco Passalia, an important step towards the strengthening of mutual cooperation was the signing of the Memorandum between Almaty and Lugano in last May.

‘’We have come to discuss the possibility of realizing the concrete projects in the field of MSW processing, increasing the efficiency of the electric power system, and some projects in the cultural–touristic direction. I think that we can noticeably widen the spheres of interaction, "M.Passalia said.

He also mentioned that Switzerland would be represented by several energy companies at the International Exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana,.

"This is an important step for us in general, and an additional opportunity to discuss some projects in Almaty," said Ticino, the deputy chairman of the chamber of commercial – industrial canton. The potential of production localization by the foreign companies in the territory of Industrial Zone and FEZ "PIT" was presented for the Swiss delegation in the meeting. The governor of the metropolis also invited Swiss tourist companies to participate in the international exhibition KITF "Tourism and Travel", which would be held in Almaty from 19 to 21 April.
