The construction of first high-tech factory in the country producting the large-diameter steel pipes has started in Almaty

The Almaty city’s governor,Bauyrzhan Baibek mentioned in his speech that the construction of a new high-tech plant would supply import substitution of 60% of imported pipe products to Kazakhstan, create the new jobs, and provide the additional tax revenues to the budget.

"An Industrial Zone created by the assignment of the State’s Head has become the center of attraction for foreign investments. There are 39 projects: 18 - export-oriented, 7 - with the participation of foreign capital. There are the Russian KMK Investment, Japanese Tokio Rope, Jordanian Hikma, and today the Chinese Asia Steel Pipe among them. 33 billions tenge are being invested in this project. The city’s executive committee has carried out the work on bringing relevant communications. During the construction period, up to 800 workplaces and more than 300 permanent ones will be created after launching the plant "B. Baibek said.

According to CNPC General Director Zhang Dzinhua, the implementation of the project became possible thanks to the following meeting of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping in 2014, within the framework of the Program of Complex Strategic Cooperation in the Oil and Gas Industry between “NC KazMunaiGas ”JSC and CNPC.

"This project marks a new milestone between the countries relations. Our priorities in construction are to ensure quality and safety, a transfer of modern technologies, a compliance with the country's legislation and a forehanded commissioning, "added the CNPC CEO.

In turn, Chairman of the Management of "NC KazMunaiGas" JSC Sauat Mynbayev highlighted that the enterprise will meet the demand for pipes not only in the oil and gas, mining and in the chemical industries, but also in the housing and communal services of Almaty. According to him, this project meets for the assignment’s of the Head of State for the development of the non-primary sector of the economy.

The production capacity of the plant which will be located on the 18.2 hectares in the Alatau region, will be 100 thousand tons of pipe products per year. In general, the district is developing on the principle of polycentricity. A full-grown infrastructure of the new administrative center has been formed. Kindergardens, schools, public health facilities and also the world-class sports facilities have been built.
