During the meeting, a resident of Bostandyk district addressed the issue of improving the coast of Big Almaty.
Since rivers play an important role in the city, work is underway to strengthen the channels of the Malaya Almatinka and Esentai rivers. Improvement works are also envisaged - creating a comfortable environment for walking and leisure for all categories of citizens.
“This year, we plan to make a project in order to clear the pedestrian zone, to make the right fences and barriers, to install lighting, so that the walking area from Al-Farabi to Sairan is large enough,” the akim said, and urged the townspeople to take part in this work in conjunction with the Green Economy Office.
Currently, work is underway to develop a project for the arrangement of the river from the mudflow protection dam to Lake Sairan. Thus, by connecting the mountains, the Park of the First President and Lake Sairan, it will be possible to recreate a green corridor, provide a corridor for ventilation and create an inclusive safe environment.
Improvement works will start next year. The deadline for the completion of the development of design and budget documentation is December 2021.
