The Almaty’s governor congratulated the citizens on the Day of Country Defender and the 25th Armed Force’s anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In his welcome speech the Almaty’s governor Bauyrzhan Baibek noted that every year the power of the Kazakh army is getting stronger, it is constantly being re-equipped with the new weapons and the military equipment, the professionalism of the personnel is improving, and the social issues of servicemen are being resolved.

"We are proud of the fact that 25 years ago the Head of State N.Nazarbayev signed the Decree for the establishment of the national Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty. Today we have brought up new, modern cadres that provide the sovereignty of our Motherland, and we are proud of our soldiers. I would also like to express special gratitude to our veterans, whose feat will remain in the centuries. Our youth should know that many of our fathers and grandfathers who went to the front to defend their native land were less than 20 years old. They dreamed to become the doctors, the teachers, the scientists, and creating the families. Unfortunately, many of them could not achieve their dream. Those who passed the war’s difficult years returned to their native land and found the strength to create the families, build and create. Thanks to you, today we have this peaceful sky above our head, our great country, which achieves great successes, "B. Baibek stressed.

In turn, the chief of the Almaty’s Department of Defense Affairs, Major-General Nikolai Kuatov noted that in a short period the country has passed a huge route of becoming the armed forces. It has become a stable institution to protect the integrity of the state and guaranteeing its security.

The solemn event was continued with the demonstration of performances by paratroopers and defile to the marching music of the State Brass Band of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the end, the participants of the event were given the opportunity to watch a live video broadcast of the largest military parade in the history of the country from the "Kazakh Eli" square in Astana.

It should be mentioned that in Almaty there is held a large-scale celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the Great Patriotic War’s Victory Day, as well as the Day of Country Defender and the 25th Armed Force’s anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From May 7 to 9 honorable guard of cadets of military schools, students of colleges and high schools carry the "Memory watch" near the monuments of the Second World War participants. The School of Fine Arts and Technical Design named after A. Kasteev organized plener of 302 artists on the military topics in the park 28 Panfilov guardsmen, in the Arbat and in the Park of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There are also performances of brass bands, in which the orchestra of Music School named after Zhubanov and the orchestra of the Tchaikovsky College of Music take part.

Actors of the Young Spectator Theater named after G.Musrepov have recreated the statues of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Aliya Moldagulova, Manshuk Mametova, Ivan Panfilov, Talgat Bigel'dinov, Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev, Malik Gabdullin, Sergei Lugansk and an exhibition of military equipment in the parkof 28 Panfilov guardsmen. There is a wall of gratitude and photo zones "Biz – batyrlar urpagy", voluminous hashtags " Biz – batyrlar urpagymyz!", "We are the children of the winners!", etc. in front of the Memorial of Glory in the square.

A ceremony of laying flowers to the Memorial of Glory will host at 10:00, in May 9 in front of the Eternal Flame square in the park of 28 Panfilov guardsmen . At 12:00 the procession of the "Immortal Regiment" will be held in the "Astana"square on Tole Biy street till Dostyk street and goes down to the park named after 28 Panfilov guardsmen. In addition to the photographs of the participants of the Second World War, 10 photo-masks will be used in the procession - the heroes of the Second World War 1941-1945 collected from 164 photos of active military personnel. From 20:00 to 22:00 a festive concert "Tagzym!" will take place, in which songs of the war years will be performed. At 22:00 a festive fireworks will be held.
