Thousands of the Almaty citizens took part in the ceremony of laying the flowers to the Memorial of Glory.

During the ceremony of laying the flowers to the eternal fire ,the Almaty city’s governor Bauyrzhan Baibek mentioned that the Great Victory was attained by the cost of colossal human victims. Kazakhstan, which it’s population was more than 6 million people at that time sent to the front about 20% of its citizens and every second of them died.

"The Kazakhs showed heroism in all the fronts of the war fighting valiantly and selflessly with a cruel enemy. The names of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Talgat Bigeldinov, Aliya Moldagulova, Manshuk Mametova, Sergei Lugansky, Leonid Beda, Nurken Abdirov and thousands and thousands of the Kazakhs are written in gold letters in the history of the war’s great achievements . Our duty is to do everything to save peace and harmony in an independent Kazakhstan, and also to keep the open sky over the heads of future generations," noted the Almaty’s governor.

He also noted that the Kazakh people did their daily feat in the rear, where the women, the old people and the children worked hard. During the war almost all enterprises were switched to the production of military products. Nine out of ten bullets were made of Kazakhstan’s lead. 35% of all-Union copper, 83% of lead, and 60% of molybdenum were smelted in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the speech Bauyrzhan Baibek reminded that more than 160 thousands were Almaty residents out of 1 million 200 thousands Kazakhstan people who went to the front. According to him, young people should remember the great feat of warriors, know about Kazakhstan’s contribution and our native land to the common victory.

"Thanks to the policy of Elbasy during the years of independence, our people live in peace and harmony. Kazakhstan’s people of different nationalities and religions live together, work, raise children, confidently look to the future. As the Head of State said, "when they talk about Kazakhstan, they respect our Kazakhstan people. Because the peace is coming from us. "Young people should remember the great feat of warriors, know about Kazakhstan’s contribution and our native land to the common victory, the names of Kazakhstan’s heroes and Almaty citizens. This is the part of our history, which we are proud of. Such examples of patriotism unite, make us a strong, a great and a united Nation,"B.Baibek stressed.

During the solemn ceremony, the gathered people had honored the memory of the fallen soldiers with a minute of silence and after that the honored guard’s company passed solemnly and a concert was held. Rosa Rymbaeva, Talgat Kuzembaev, ILCanto and Art Classics quartets, Bereke Enkebayev, Alexei Timofeev and others performed such songs as "Let's worship the great years", "Holy war", "Zhas Kazakh", "Aliya", " "Talyanochka", "Sagadat", "Dark-skinned".

" The hero nation" procession was held along the streets of the city immediately after the solemn meeting. In addition to the photos of the Second World War participants, 10 photo-masks of the Second World War heroes were used in the procession collected from 164 photos of active military personnel.

From 20:00 to 22:00 on the square "Astana" there will be a festive concert "Tagzym!" There will be sung the war year’s songs: "Sagadat", "Dark Night", "At the Unnamed Height", "Kestely Oramal", "Sogystan kaitkan soldattar "and many others in performance of our country’s actors. The festive event will end with a salute.

It should be mentioned, that these days there are various actions dedicated to the Victory Day. So, within the framework of the action "Watch of Memory" the pupils guard at the monuments and obelisks established for the heroes of the Great Responsible War. In all schools there are class hours, "Lessons of Courage", the exhibitions on military subjects, where soldiers are necessarily invited.

In the park of 28 Panfilov guardsmen, on the Arbat and in the Park of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of the School of Fine Arts and Technical Design named after A. Kasteev organized plener of 302 artists on military topics. There are also performances of brass bands in which the orchestra of the Zhubanov Music School and the orchestra of the Tchaikovsky College of Music take part. Actors of the Young Spectator Theater named after G. Musrepov have recreated the statues of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, Aliya Moldagulova, Manshuk Mametova, Ivan Panfilov, Talgat Bigel'dinov, Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev, Malik Gabdullin, Sergei Lugansk and an exhibition of military equipment in the parkof 28 Panfilov guardsmen. There is a wall of gratitude and photo zones "Biz – batyrlar urpagy", voluminous hashtags " Biz – batyrlar urpagymyz!", "We are the children of the winners!", etc. in front of the Memorial of Glory in the square.
