A number of streets will be reconstructed with the priority for pedestrians in Almaty

The city continues working systematically to create the comfortable conditions for citizens, i.e. the improvement of parks and squares, the reconstruction of pedestrian areas, the organization of bicycle paths, the dismantling of fences that protect the public space, etc.

In Almaly district will be fully landscaped sections of Duisenov street from Arensky street to Gaidar street, as well as Karasai batyr street from Ablai khan avenue to Masanchi street. In Bostandyk district work will begin on the Timiryazev Str., from the Yesentai River to Baitursynov Street with the length of 2.5 km .

The projects involve laying pavers, aryks, urns, benches, dismantling fences, etc. Sports equipment, playgrounds, trees, hedges, flower beds, etc. will be installed.

In general, this year 16 pedestrian zones will be equipped in each district, and Panfilov, Zhibek Zholy, Gogol, Kabanbai batyr streets and Astana square will be reconstructed with pedestrian priority.
