The governor of the megapolis Bauyrzhan Baibek noted that today Almaty was formed as a city of high investment and innovative attractiveness, which has been evidenced by figures - investments in fixed assets in the city for the current year increased by 11%, and foreign investments increased by 25%.

"During the meeting of our Head of State with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe in November last year, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral relations. In this regard, the Japanese business club and the Japanese industrial park are being created in Almaty, the second stage of the project "Tokyo Rope Almaty" is being implemented. In general, at present 40 projects are being implemented in the Industrial Zone of Almaty aimed at replacing imports and increasing export of products," B. Baibek noted.

According to the chairman of the board of directors of Tokyo Rope Manufacturing Shigeto Tanaki, this is a unique enterprise that has no analogues outside of Japan. Investments of a foreign company to start a plant that will be located on 4 hectares in the Industrial Zone will amount to about 3.6 billion tenge.

"High-quality metal cables, galvanized steel grids for mining and quarrying, drilling anchors, etc. will be produced here. The products will have a significant share of Kazakhstan's content, which will significantly reduce its cost price. The volume of production will be about 17 thousand tons per year. Commissioning of the plant is scheduled for 2018," Sh. Tanaka said.

Tokyo Rope Company, founded more than 130 years ago, is the world leader in the production of steel ropes, and also specializes in the design, manufacture and installation of protective structures against mudflows, avalanches, landslides, rockfalls.
