On February 1, the Koktobe TV tower will host an event on the full transition to digital terrestrial television in Almaty. In the region, the implementation of a state project for the introduction of digital terrestrial television broadcasting has been completed. Director of the Almaty Regional Directorate of Television and Radio Broadcasting, of JSC "Kazteleradio," Kaisar Razdykov spoke about this at a briefing of the Regional Communication Service.
Currently, the total number of commissioned radio and television stations is 546 units, which cover more than 91% of the country's residents. For 100% shutdown of analogue TV broadcasting throughout the country, it is necessary to build and modernize 827 stations.
With the help of digital TV broadcasting, only domestic Kazakhstani channels are broadcast, moreover, free of charge for the population.
“Taking into account the technology of digital terrestrial television broadcasting at the level of regional centers, residents have access to 30 standard definition TV channels, below the regional center - up to 15 channels, while with analog broadcasting - 10 and 4 channels, respectively. Also, in analog broadcasting, noise, crackling, "snow" are often observed, while in digital broadcasting there is an excellent picture and sound, ”he said.
It should be noted, that digital television allows you to receive high quality picture and sound, and also provides a wider choice of channels and programs. The old-style signal is very vulnerable to external influences, for example, it depends on bad weather and in strong winds it can simply disappear. Digital TV broadcasting has a high level of protection and signal quality, it is received over long distances. Now, analog broadcasting works according to the principle: one transmitter - one channel. Digital, allows the broadcast of multiple channels on a single transmitter.
“It is not difficult to connect to digital terrestrial television. Digital receivers must be purchased. They are sold in the public domain - about 100 retail outlets in Almaty and the region. The cost of the receiver is about 4 thousand tenge and 1.5 thousand tenge - an antenna. If the TVs are new (since 2016), then they already have built-in digital receivers, you just need to connect the antenna, ”Kaisar Razdykov explained.
To be able to watch digital TV broadcasting, subscribers only need to check whether their TV supports the DVB-T2 standard, in this case, all that remains to be done is to purchase and connect a decimeter antenna. Otherwise, you need to purchase a DVB-T2 digital signal receiver and decimeter antenna.
For consumer technical support, a call center has been organized to the short number 193, also +7 (727) 258-1500, and the WhatsApp number +7 707 258-1500, where calls are accepted seven days a week and on holidays. Also, instructions for connecting are posted on the tsetv.kz website.
In addition, in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Television and Radio Broadcasting", the Rules for providing persons who are recipients of state targeted social assistance with television set-top boxes were approved, according to which recipients of state targeted social assistance are provided, free of charge. with set-top boxes for receiving a digital signal.
The provision of set-top boxes is carried out by way of public procurement, is one-time and is not re-supplied to the applicant, his family members and other persons permanently living together.
Since 2017, state targeted social assistance recipients in Almaty have been provided with television set-top boxes free of charge. For 2021, it is planned to provide 100 recipients of STSA in the amount of 1,100 thousand tenge.
To receive the prefixes, the recipient of the STSA must apply to the district departments of the Social Welfare Department, at the place of registration of the permanent residence, and attach a certificate of receipt of the STSA.
