New life has been given to the libraries of Almaty
On behalf of the city Akim B. Sagintayev, the modernization of the library system of the metropolis continues.
 
In his Instagram account, the Akim of Almaty Bakhytzhan Sagintayev spoke about the renovation of libraries and the creation of useful leisure centers for children and youth, on their basis, within walking distance.
 
Last year, the modernization of the library network began, 10 libraries were completely updated.
 
“Now these are no longer empty dusty book depositories, but modern bright centers, true homes to books. During a visit to the Library of Kazakhstani Writers at 37 Altynsarin Avenue, publications of our masters of literature, published with the support of the Akimat, were presented. 30 different books with a total circulation of 65 thousand copies were sold to all libraries of the city, "wrote B. Sagintayev.
 
The Akim of the city also got acquainted with updated libraries No. 44 in the Alatau district, and No. 26 and No. 1 in the Turksib district.
 
“Modern book storage systems make it possible to effectively use the area, to allocate corners for creativity, master classes, and family reading hours. We tried to extend the opening hours as much as possible and canceled days off. We are doing everything to make the visit accessible and interesting, ”said the Akim of the megapolis.
 
For the same purpose, meetings with famous and young writers, creative evenings and thematic workshops are held.
 
“The number of readers after modernization has grown by 25%, and in some places by 50%. I am especially glad that most of them are children, ”B. Sagintayev stressed.
