"The profession of a builder at all times enjoyed great respect and honor. You do not just build houses, infrastructure facilities. An architectural image of cities is being created with your hands, and the economy is developing. On your work depends the quality of life, well-being and comfort of citizens. As you know, on the instructions of Head of the country, this year the realization of the housing program "Nurly Jer" begins. It is aimed at solving the most important task - to provide housing to 1.5 million families in the next 15 years. The Program includes comprehensive measures to support the development of the housing market. This, of course, will give a new impetus to the development of the country's construction industry. For us, the most important task is to solve the housing problems of Almaty residents. As part of the implementation of the state program "Nurly zher", 73 houses are being built, of which 24 will be completed this year, "B. Baibek said.

The head of the city added that since 2015 the growth of investments in the construction sector amounted to 17%. Only in the first half of this year in the construction sector was invested about 235 billion tenge.

Today, construction of 1140 housing and civil facilities is underway in Almaty, incl. 762 is built at the expense of private investment and 378 is financed from the budget. Within the framework of the state programs, in the 2016-2017by the executive committee 19 dwelling houses with 1040 apartments were built. According to the program "Affordable Housing - 2020" this year another 17 houses are scheduled to be put into operation in the neighborhoods of Sayaly and Zhas Kanat. According to the urban program "Demolition of dilapidated housing", 3 new residential houses were built, where residents of the demolished dilapidated houses were resettled. In the Athletic Village, which today has turned into a modern, well-maintained microdistrict, the apartments have received 1,748 families. A large volume of construction in recent years is being carried out in the Nauryzbaysky district.

This year, the construction and seismic reinforcement of 42 educational facilities are envisaged. Of these, 29 are put into operation this year. Construction and repair of 18 health facilities is underway, with the commissioning of 10 facilities by the end of the year.

With the aim of creating a comfortable life for citizens and visitors of the city environment and improving the environment, the city is doing a lot of improvements and transforming Zhibek Zholy, Panfilov, Gogol, Kabanbai batyr and "Astana" square. These streets are reconstructed with a priority for pedestrians, where there will be comfortable public spaces, pedestrian zones and bicycle paths, green spaces.
