In Almaty, works on seismic reinforcement and major repairs of a number of educational facilities have finished

At present, seismic reinforcement works have been completed in four schools (No. 71, No. 106, No. 53, No. 63) and two kindergartens (No. 69 and No. 80). In September, it is planned to complete the works at school №10 and two kindergartens №77 and №82. According to the Construction Department, seismic reinforcement of seven schools (№187, №192, №4, №162, №19, №118, №101) will be completed in October, six schools (№20, №104, №130, №94, № 21, No. 110) in November, the House of Hope and School No. 46 in December.

The city is working on the construction of seven pre-school education facilities. In the current year, the construction of a kindergarten on the territory of school №110 and extension to kindergarten № 6 will be completed. Next year, kindergartens will be put into operation on the territory of schools No. 184 and No. 185, and three kindergartens with 320 places each in Nauryzbaysky and Alatau districts.

Construction and installation work is continuing at eight educational facilities. Until the end of the year, work will be completed on the construction of extensions to schools N77 and N156. In 2018 a school will be commissioned for 1,200 places in the Nauryzbay region and a school for 600 places in the Alatau district, as well as extensions to the pedagogical college No. 1, schools No. 151, No. 185, etc.

Over the past 5 years, the city has opened more than 280 kindergartens for 15,000 seats and 12 schools for almost 14,000 seats. Only last year at the expense of the local budget, 4 kindergartens for 500 places were put into operation. Built and put into operation extensions to schools in md. "Shanyrak" and "Kalkaman" for 1800 seats.

Within the framework of public-private partnership in 2016, 175 kindergartens and mini-centers for 5.7 thousand places were opened at the expense of private funds. In 2017, 57 private gardens for 2000 places were commissioned. Support from business has saved about 14 billions tenge of budgetary funds.

At the Urban Planning Council of the city, when considering the construction of residential complexes, special attention is paid to schools and kindergartens. Over the past 2 years, it was decided at the expense of investors to build 54 kindergartens for 7,000 seats. 24 kindergartens for 3 thousand places will be transferred to communal property. Thanks to this, the budget saved almost 24 billionsw tenge.

Within the framework of the "Year of Youth" announced in Almaty, a corresponding Roadmap has been developed. It is planned to build 4 hostels for 2 thousand seats.
