The Head of the State mentioned that he had accepted the news of the outstanding state and public figure Uzakbay Karamanov death in great grief.

«Uzakbay Karamanov worked for his nation and for his motherland’ prosperity in his whole life. Thanks to his excellent organizational abilities and authority in the society, he occupied many high government positions and always fulfilled all his duties with honor. The people of Kazakhstan will not forget his name and merit in front of the country," N.Nazarbayev said in a telegram.

The telegram from the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev was read by the Minister for Investments and Development, Zhenis Kasymbek.

"I express my deepest condolences to the family of Uzakbay Karamanov. Being a talented state and public figure, he used his knowledge and rich experience for the prosperity of Kazakhstan. His bright image will remain forever in the memory of the people," the telegram says.

"Today we see our father off. Many thanks to all Kazakhstanis for such attention. Everywhere he was known, many people worked with him, and boldly trusted him. He supported all, did good. People remembered the attention and care shown to them, approached him. For these qualities, the President chose him as a prime minister. Father was reliable in the service, like flint. It is very important that the first condolence came from President Nursultan Nazarbayev, " noted the son of prominent state and public figure Nurlan Karamanov.

During the farewell ceremony, statesman Askar Kulibayev, Majilis deputy Baktykozha Izmukhambetov, the governor of Kyzylorda region Krymbek Kusherbayev and many others noted that Uzakbay Karamanov was a person with a big heart who devoted his entire life for the good of Kazakhstan.

Uzakbay Karamanov passed away on September 25, 2017 at the age of 80 years. He began his labor career as a superintendent of the Shubar-Kuduk auto base of Aktobe. In different years he worked as a director of the construction materials and construction works of the trust "Almaatapromstroy". Then he held a number of posts in the ministries of the Kazakh SSR. In 1987 he was appointed chairman of the State Provision of the KazSSR, in 1989 he was chairman of the Council of Ministers of the KazSSR, and in 1990 - the prime minister of the KazSSR. In the years of independence he was president of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea and a deputy of the Majilis. U. Karamanov is buried in the cemetery "Kensai".
