The governor of Almaty congratulated teachers on professional holiday

Today, the educational network of the city includes 977 educational organizations, including 443 state and 534 private, where more than 350,000 children study and 28,000 pedagogical workers work.

At a meeting with city teachers Almaty’s governor noted that in the light of modernization the Head of State had defined the sphere of education among the most important priorities and set the task "to make education the central link of a new model of economic growth".

"From the first days of Independence, the development of education is an invariable priority of state policy. It is difficult to overestimate the contribution of Kazakhstani teachers to the implementation of reforms carried out at the initiative of our President N.A. Nazarbayev. This year Kazakhstan entered a new historical period. In his programmatic article "Ruhani zhangyru" the Head of the State noted that the feature of tomorrow would be the competitiveness of a person that woulld become the factor of the nation's success. It is for you, the teachers, to instill this set of qualities for our children and youth. Taking into account the urgent tasks, this year we have brought up to 100% the equipment of the city schools with modern cabinets of physics, chemistry, biology, linguaphone and multimedia cabinets, interactive boards. Over the past 5 years, 13 schools have been opened for 15,000 places. We are proud of the fact that the most talented teachers work in Almaty. Your students repeatedly take first place at international, republican Olympiads and scientific competitions. Show high results for UNT. It is worth noting that the Almaty graduates for the sixth year in a row show the best result in the UNT, with an average score of 97.5. For 12 years occupy the first team place in the republican Olympiad. In the 15th time they win in the republican competitions of scientific projects. The fourth consecutive year at the Presidential Olympiad among pupils of 11 classes.

At the same time, over 280 kindergartens for 15 thousand places and 13 schools for almost 15 thousand places have been opened in the city for the last five years. Only last year at the expense of the local budget, 4 kindergartens for 500 places were put into operation. Built and put into operation extensions to schools in md. "Shanyrak" and "Kalkaman" for 1800 seats. This year the construction of 6 kindergartens was started. Construction of an extension to the school No. 156 in the micro district "Ozhet" for 600 pupils is under way. Funds have been allocated for the construction of schools and outbuildings in the Alatau and Nauryzbay districts for 2,600 pupils.

Within the framework of public-private partnership, 175 kindergartens and mini-centers were opened at the expense of private funds for 5,700 places last year. This year, 57 private gardens for 2000 places were commissioned. Support from business has saved about 14 billions tenge of budgetary funds.

At the Urban Planning Council of the city, when considering the construction of residential complexes, special attention is paid to schools and kindergartens. Over the past 2 years, it was decided at the expense of investors to build 54 kindergartens for 7,000 seats. 24 kindergartens for 3 thousand places will be transferred to communal property. Thanks to this, the budget saved almost 24 billions tenge.

On behalf of the Head of State this year, the project "Free Vocational and Technical Education for All" is being implemented. KZT 1.5 billion was allocated from the city budget. This will allow for free training of 11 thousand people in the labor market specialties in demand on the labor market. The number of places for short-term vocational training courses has increased 14 times, which is almost 7 thousand people.

On the instructions of The Head of the State, 2017 in Almaty was declared the "Year of Youth", a corresponding Roadmap was developed. It is planned to build 4 hostels for 2 thousand seats. Together with Zhilstroysberbank, a unique program has been developed that gives an opportunity to get a preferential loan for young people to purchase a new apartment.
