An informational center is opened for tourists in Almaty

As the head of the tourism management and the external connection of the city Erlan Zhailaubay said, that the center would give the professional consultation for guests and the citizens of Almaty about the city’s tourist potential, the maps of the city, the guides, the maps of the mountain routes, the tour operators and the previews of cultural-grand activities.

There is also an assistance in ordering tours, purchasing souvenirs and most importantly adapted for foreign tourists SIM-cards mobile operator. In the near future, it is planned to open information tourist kiosks in the most popular locations. According to him, the experience of creating the center will be adopted in developed tourist cities, such as Paris, London, Dubai, New York and Barcelona.

"The official website www.visitalmaty.kz is already functioning, which will be available in seven languages in the future. The site displays basic information about the city, the most popular sights, restaurants with national cuisine and a constantly updated calendar of events. In the center there is a consultation zone, a souvenir zone, a meeting room, an interactive zone for events. Since the technical launch, 109 tourists have already applied here, "explained the director of the center Asel Nurkebaeva.

She noted that a hotline for travelers has also been created, which will allow to promptly resolve issues in the event of an emergency situation.

In general, it is planned that "Visit Almaty" will become an organization acting as a catalyst for public-private partnership and tourism development in the Almaty cluster. An important part of the work of the tourist information center will be the implementation of projects to promote tourism potential in the international and domestic markets, conduct analysis of the ratings and competitiveness of the region, tourism development opportunities and conduct research in this sector.
