The governor of Almaty has met with the general secretary of OECD

Nowadays the standards of OECD means the uprising of the whole nation’s standard of living, therefore their achievement is not only one of the priority of the whole country, but it is also the cities’ achievement. The fact that the place which the forum has been exactly in Almaty is an additional area for the practice exchange in the way of raising the competitiveness.

During the meeting the general secretary of OECD Angel Gurria mentioned that the OECD was interested in the strengthening of partnership with Almaty as the regional locomotive.

«In the country of OECD the 75% of population live in the city where is established the innovation and there generates the finance. The organization concerns the questions of stable development of the big cities and in Almaty we see the big potential», mentioned A.Gurria.

We remind you that the partnership of Kazakhstan with the OECD has started since 2008 in the framework of the Eurasian program of competitiveness. It’s participants are from 13 countries of Central Asia, Caucasus and the Eastern Europe.

The directors of state departments of Eurasia and the OECD, the representatives of the international organization-partners, the scientific society. the business and the societies are participating in Almaty’s” forum ” The Eurasian week of OECD-2017”. This meeting is directed to the partnership enforcement in several directions connected directly with the competitiveness and the social development of the region.
