An international festival of folk music performers « Uly dala eli -the nation of great land » was held in Almaty

Today in Almaty in the framework of the program «Rukhany zhangyru», there has been doing a systematic work for supporting and revival of traditional art, therefore it is not in occasion that a month ago Almaty has been included as the city of culture and creativity in the list of creative cities of UNESKO.

«An opening of the traditional art theatre «Alatau» and the multimedia center of traditional music have given the new impulse of the development of our culture and it has opened the new opportunity for the traditional performers», mentioned in his speech the governor of Almaty B.Baibek.

In this year besides the international festival of folk music performers «Uly dala ely -the nation of great land», there were the festival of traditional music «Auenmen terbelgen myng zhyl- the one thousand year sounded by music», the festival of poets «Altyn dombyra –the gold dombyra» , there has been shooting a TV program «Inzhu marzhan» based on the museum of instrumental music named after Ykhlas.

Last year in the framework of the 1000 years anniversary of the city, there was organized an international festival of «Uly dala ely», where has participated the singers from Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan. There was an international festival of «By the foot prints of Marco Polo» where the artists had participated from France, Greece, India, Iran, Switzerland, Armenia, etc.

During the opening of the festival Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan Philippe Martine amazed by the audience for his good knowledge of Kazakh language was awarded the poet and performer Ulzhan Baibosynova by the medal of art and literature of the French Republic.
