The Almaty city’s budget for 2018 was affirmed during the maslikhat’s meeting

Next year, "priority number one" is landscaping, gardening and improving the environmental situation, which is directed to more than a third of the city's development budget.

So, work will continue on the reconstruction of the historic center of the city: a modernization of 178 hectares is planned within the borders of Tole bi street - Dostyk avenue - Abay avenue - Esentai river embankment. Next year 17 pedestrian zones will be equipped, reconstruction on the Republic Square will be completed according to international standards. At the same time, the development of parks, squares and green spaces in the budget for 2018 provides for 6.3 times more funds than in the current year.

In 2018 it is planned to repair about 500 Almaty yards. Thus, the share of well-maintained households will be brought up to 33%. It is worth noting that over the past two years 732 yards have been repaired and equipped in Almaty, that is, every fifth Almaty court.

The reconstruction of the irrigation network will be allocated 3.3 times more funds. If this year 28 km were repaired, which is almost 3 times more than the volume of the previous years, next year, according to the information of the Natural Resources Department, it is planned to repair an additional 74 km of the irrigation ditch network. In general, the issue of irrigation ditches and storm water sewage will be considered in a comprehensive manner, with the development of a plan for the development of irrigation networks for 10 years.

The development of public transport and transport infrastructure will continue. These two areas remain one of the priority, they will have more than a fifth of all costs. In the current year, the bus fleet of the city was renewed by more than 30%, and the number of repaired roads was over 180 km.

Next year, subsidies will be provided for transport of new buses with high quality of services. The practice of compensating preferential transportation of more than 600 thousand citizens will be continued.

The construction of two metro stations "Dostyk" and "Saryarka" will continue, which will increase passenger traffic by more than 1.5 times, to 18 million passengers per year. Next year, a tender will be held to identify the investor, and work will begin on the removal of networks within the framework of the LRT project.

In addition, express buses with increased capacity are being revived in the city. This year, 2.7 km of the first line of BRT have been completed, and in 2018 the development of a design documentation for the construction of the second stage will begin.

To protect against mudflow hazards in 2018, the development of a digital monitoring system for moraine lakes will begin. At present, observations are made from a helicopter. It should be noted that this year in Almaty, through the acquisition of expensive pumping stations, the most dangerous moraine lakes were emptied.

The most important task of ensuring the safety of the city is also seismic reinforcement of social facilities. For this purpose, a plan for phased seismic strengthening of social facilities was developed before 2025.

So, 6 kindergartens, 20 schools and 1 orphanage have been seismically cleaned this year, and 8 health facilities are being completed to seismically clean up. More than 7 thousand objects have been certified for seismic resistance, incl. schools, kindergartens, hospitals, etc.

The social sphere as a whole accounts for half of all expenditures of the 2018 budget. In the field of healthcare over the past 2 years, the level of equipment of medical organizations reached 75%, which allowed to improve the quality of services, the accuracy of diagnosis and early detection of diseases at an early stage. Next year, the provision of medicines and vaccines, the acquisition of medical equipment, training and retraining of personnel, the maintenance of medical facilities are envisaged. It is planned to build the building of the ambulance station of the Alatau district, to complete the design of the PSD for seismic reinforcement of 6 health facilities and completion of 6 facilities.

8.8 billions tenge were pledged for social protection, including social benefits and benefits, 9 institutions and social support for disabled people. In order to improve the level and quality of life of citizens with disabilities, a study will be conducted on the "Barrier-free Environment" project with the development of the Roadmap.

In the next year's budget, funds are invested for the current repair of schools, the purchase of textbooks, the wages of teachers and educators. It is planned to build 8 kindergartens, additions to 2 schools will be completed, an extension to the pedagogical college building and seismic reinforcement of school №46.

In general, today all the indicators of the social and economic development of Almaty show positive dynamics. So, the growth rate of the city's economy for the first half of 2017 was 4%, investment in fixed assets for 11 months was 15.7%.
