The Day of Constitution of RK is celebrated in Almaty

The ceremonial meeting devoted to the Day of Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan took place in Almaty in the State Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abai. The Mayor of Almaty Bauyrzhan Baibek, the members of the Maslikhat, representatives of ethno-cultural groups and the diplomatic corps, youth organizations took part in this event .

The Head of the city pointed out the significance of the Main Law of the country – the guarantee of strengthening our independence, development of efficient national legislative system and improvement of national prosperity as well as emphasized that the Constitution is the fundamentals of successful way of Kazakhstan, being the creation of national will. Thus, 21 years ago – at the moment when the country needed crucial decisions to change the fundamental basis of social life, the Kazakhs by means of national referendum supported the initiative of the First President of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev in adoption of the Constitution.

“At that time, in the 90-s this step had great significance for the further development of the country, in the situation of crisis large-scale structural reforms were needed. One of them was the adoption of the new Constitution. During the years of independence 255 billion dollars of international investments were attracted that means high level of trust of the world society in our country. Gradual development of economics was the grounds for the improvement of well-being of the Kazakhs. For example, the average salary was 17 times raised. During the years of independence there were about 1400 schools built, more that 100 million m2 of dwelling place were provided. The average life length of the Kazakhs rose to 72 that indicate the best the improvement of life. In Almaty this index is 75 years”,  - B.Baibek said.

The Mayor of the city said that the main priority of the state policy is the investments in human resources. He pointed out the significance of the Constitution in providing stability in our multi-ethic and multi-confession state.

“Due to the policy of the Head of the state all the years of our independence we make the way of entity and gradual formation of our nation on the grounds of national identity. The national idea “Mangilik El” makes strong fundamentals for the development of the nation on the basis of citizenship . We will always be proud of the fact of adoption of the Constitution on Almaty – a golden cradle of independence, which 25 th anniversary is celebrated this year. Whereas in the beginning of the 90-s Almaty provided one tenth of GDP, today it forms one fifth of national economics. During these years the development of Almaty at unprecedentedly faster pace ”,  - B.Baibek noted.

The Mayor emphasized that the major value of the Constitution is a human being, his life, rights and freedoms. “Our Constitution contributes to opening the potential of every Kazakhstan citizen and provides the opportunity of every on them to create his destiny, so our duty is to cherish it ”,  - he concluded.

The event ended with a holiday concert.
