Theater of Traditional Arts opened to the 1000-year Anniversary of Almaty

A ceremony of opening the “Alatau” Theater of Traditional Arts took place in the Alatau district of Almaty. The event was attended by Mayor of Almaty Bauyrzhan Baybek, as well as workers of culture and arts, members of the public, etc.

There was a unique exhibition of musical instruments, gift items made of wood and leather, as well as a collection of national musical instruments from the Fund of the Museum of Musical Instruments named after Yhylas

During the official part of the event the Mayor noted the important significance and relevance of the event regarding the celebration of the 1000-year Anniversary of Almaty.

"Thanks to the wise policy of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, in recent years we have been able to collect our past. Having achieved our independence, we are moving forward to the future with confidence, maintaining our identity," B.Baybek said.

The event ended with a concert featuring the best representatives of traditional musical art. After the concert the audience was presented with all new lighting of the façade of the Theater.
