Buses have been renewed on one more demanded route in Almaty

Earlier on this route, the carrier exhibited only 6 buses out of 20 planned, so the interval reached 50 minutes. In this connection, it was decided to organize maintenance of the route of LLP Almatytelektrotrans with provision of 20 low-floor buses of large capacity. Accordingly, the interval on the route will be reduced from 50 to 12 minutes, an increase in passenger traffic by more than five times is expected.

"We have been conducting transport reform for more than two years, which is one of the most difficult in any metropolis. In addition to buses purchased from the budget, private vehicle fleets also update the rolling stock. However, not all are ready to work on market relations, to invest their own funds in development. For example, on this route number 137 buses last updated in 2003. Today, for companies updating the fleet of subsidies, all carriers are paid for a preferential category of passengers. Today, the market is becoming transparent, effective, for all companies working in the long term, all conditions are created," said the akim of the metropolis.

At the same time, Bauyrzhan Baibek noted that 1400 buses plying today are not enough for the city of Almaty, where about 2 million people live, therefore, consistent transport work is being carried out in the framework of the transport reform, including the construction of a fleet designed to service 200 buses for gas, assembly of electric buses, the construction of the metro is ongoing and the preparation of the LRT project is under way.

It should be noted that buses have already been updated in Almaty on routes No. 12, 22, 50, 56, 65, 69, 70, 86, 95, 103, 112, 115, 124, 126, 127, 131, route No. 77 has been renewed, route number 1 and the main route No. 201. To complete the transport services connected to the city from the neighboring area of the villages, 10 routes were launched.
