Bauyrzhan Baibek assigned to restore the broken fountains and to increase zones of green plantations

"Reconstruction of the historic center of the city is just the beginning of a lot of work to be done in this year. Now we see a lot of dominance of asphalt, various extensions on the passerby, pedestrians maneuver between cars, beautiful historical buildings clinging to something incomprehensible. Quarter to quarter, street after street we will repair and restore order. It's time to return the former luster of Almaty," said Bauyrzhan Baibek.

Within the framework of the working tour, the governor of Almaty inspected a number of underground pedestrian crossings in which preparations for major repairs are being conducted. Since for the period of repair the underground passages will not function, the head of the metropolis instructed to create conditions for the safe movement of pedestrians at intersections.

In general, this year the reconstruction of the historical center of the city will be continued. It is planned to renovate the facades of buildings, expand pedestrian areas, lead groups to enter into a single architectural style, etc. The project is one of the "50 drivers of Almaty development" in the framework of the President's Message in order to ensure modernization and further economic growth of the metropolis.

We remind you that earlier Bauyrzhan Baibek instructed to conduct a survey of sidewalks for illegal seizure by various outbuildings that impede the movement of pedestrians. To prevent spontaneous parking and improve the safety of pedestrians, it is planned to narrow the arrivals from the streets and appropriate arrangement of sidewalks.

In 2018, Almaty plans to repair 157 streets, 155 km in length, and dismantle tram tracks on the streets of Makatayev, Baytursynov and Zharokov. When repairing the roadway, the sidewalks will be arranged, irrigation ditches will be replaced, dismantling of unused structures, landscaping, while the parking pockets will be only longitudinal.
