The regional communications service of the city of Almaty organized a press tour of the city's urban development facilities.
During the press tour, the participants visited parks and squares that are being implemented within the framework of the "Employment Roadmap 2020" programs, the "Participation Budget" project, on behalf of the Akim of Almaty city B. Sagintayev.
Let us recall, that earlier, the Akim noted that the landscaped parks and squares should become a place of attraction for both adults and children - for a pleasant and useful pastime. In this matter, the opinion of the city residents themselves should be taken into account.
 
Among such objects is the Friendship Park, where work is currently being carried out on gardening and landscaping, within the framework of the state program "Employment Roadmap 2020".
 
Further, the participants of the press tour were presented with the west Gandhi park, the park of Love, located in the Almalinsky district. The improvement of the public garden of the west Gandhi park was implemented at the suggestion of the residents of the district, within the framework of the Participation Budget project. The park has been equipped with rubber coated, cobblestone and asphalted territories. The installation and restoration of benches and ballot boxes were also carried out. Moreover, a workout playground, exercise equipment, two sports zones, and children playgrounds have been installed in the park. Lighting has been provided, floor supports and lamps have also been installed. The green area consists of 1080 sq. m, 100 units of trees have been planted. 
 
In the park of Love, landscaping of the site was carried out, trees and perennial shrubs were planted, flower beds were laid, and the lawn was sown. Lighting has been provided, lamps were installed in the amount of 24 units, and 8 units of floor lamps.
 
The participants also got acquainted with the project for the improvement of the territory of the park named after 28 Panfilov guardsmen in the Medeu region. This project is being implemented within the framework of the state program "Employment Roadmap 2020". The improvement of the park territory provides for the replacement of an asphalted concrete pavement with an area of ​​more than 17,000 sq. m, the installation of lighting poles in the amount of 373 units, installation of paving slabs with an area of​​more than 3600 sq. m, landscaping more than 59,000 sq. m of territory. 103 new benches will be installed and 23 retro benches will be restored, and the drainage system will be reconstructed with a length of more than 2,100 meters. To date, more than 75% of the work has been completed. Estimated completion date - until the end of October.
 
In addition, the participants of the press tour visited the square in the Zhas Kanat microdistrict and Mayak settlement, including the airport lake zone, located in the Turksib district, where work is underway to create recreational zones. The landscaping area of ​​the site is 170 thousand square meters. During the reconstruction, 70 jobs were created. Landscaping and gardening were carried out on an area of ​​22,976 sq. m. There is a parking area for the placement of 30 cars and a bicycle parking lot. Sports facilities, workout grounds, mini-football and streetball grounds, parkour grounds, and children playgrounds have been built on the territory. Moreover, 125 benches were installed, 130 garbage cans, and 8 tables with seating.
 

As part of the implementation of the Development Strategy "Almaty-2050", in particular, the principle "A City for the People" in the megalopolis, work is actively underway to create a comfortable, improved urban environment: landscaping and development of public spaces of the city to ensure comfortable living for the population.
