The Akimat of Almaty took measures to strengthen sanitary and epidemiological control at the international airport of the city
On behalf of the Akim of Almaty, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev, measures were taken to strengthen the anti-epidemic regime and additional protection of the metropolis from the import of coronavirus from abroad.
As part of the implementation of the Resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 54, the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the city, Zhandarbek Bekshin, adopted a Resolution on toughening sanitary and epidemiological measures at the state border of the Almaty International Airport.

In this regard, Deputy Akim of Almaty Yerzhan Babakumarov, together with Zh. Bekshin, held a working seminar-meeting at the airport on the coordination and operational interaction of services for meeting passengers of international flights. Representatives of the management of the airport administration, border service, sanitary and epidemiological services of the city and the airport, as well as city structures involved in ensuring sanitary and epidemiological security measures in the air harbor took part.

During the seminar-meeting, instructions were given and the algorithm of actions of authorized structures was worked out from the moment of boarding passengers and landing of persons to identify passengers without a certificate of PCR testing.

Non-contact thermometry of persons arriving by international passenger flights is carried out on the territory of the Almaty International Airport. Airport staff are provided with personal protective equipment. On the territory of the airport, there is a mandatory mask regime and a requirement to observe social distance.

On behalf of the Akimat of Almaty, a licensed sampling point for PCR diagnostics was opened in the airport building for departing passengers.

Persons with fever or symptoms of the disease (cough, shortness of breath, heaviness of breath) will be placed in the airport isolation ward, or will be transported from the aircraft by ambulances to the infectious disease hospitals of the city for differential diagnosis and treatment.

The working group also checked the assessment of the readiness of hotels for temporary accommodation of passengers arriving to the city without PCR testing. The necessary conditions have been created here for the temporary stay of persons without PCR, ensuring isolation and compliance with other requirements of sanitary and epidemiological safety.

We remind you, that according to the Resolution of the Chief State Physician, persons who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the absence of a certificate of passing the COVID-19 test by the PCR method, selected no earlier than 72 hours at the time of crossing the state border of Kazakhstan, are not allowed to enter the city.

Citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan arriving from abroad without a certificate, will be temporarily placed in the hotels of the metropolis from the airport, for PCR testing until the results are ready.

In turn, airlines were previously instructed by the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Industrial Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the absence of a certificate of PCR testing, not to allow non-citizen passengers on board.

The Akimat of Almaty earnestly asks residents and guests of the city to comply with these requirements and to undergo PCR testing before arriving at the territory of the metropolis.
