For the elderly, on a regular basis, computer skills training will be organized, working with smartphones, English. Together with public associations, free legal, psychological, medical consultations, motivational seminars and master classes will be held weekly.

"Listen, how well everything is arranged here. We've been waiting for this for so long. I myself, on the "word of mouth" learned that in our city opens such a center. I ran here and was in the forefront, I live not so far. I've already chosen a program that I'm interested in, including chorus and yoga, it's so cool. I'm 80 years old, but I'm a very active great-grandmother. I go to the mountains, but without sticks yet, and here they will teach me Scandinavian walking. And I want to learn how to work on the computer," one of the first visitors to the center of Rimma Kalashnikova shared her impressions.

The center of active longevity was opened within the framework of the Road Map for the support of the older generation "Belsendi uzak omir", adopted a few months ago. The city program is aimed at involving the elderly in active life, using their potential and ensuring the continuity of generations.

"First of all, we try to address the issues of socially vulnerable segments of the population. On behalf of the Head of State in Almaty, they reduced payment twice in state kindergartens. Within the framework of youth support, several student hostels are being built. Young families without a down payment can get a loan for housing at only 5%. But there is another category of citizens who need support. These are elderly people, who are more than 12% in Almaty today. People of age should not be confined to a quiet pension. They want to feel in demand, to feel our attention. Therefore, this year in Almaty we will hold under the auspices of support of the older generation," the governor of the city Bauyrzhan Baibek noted at the time.

Since the launch of the project in Almaty, 32 social clubs have been established with a coverage of more than 1,700 people. Computer literacy courses have already passed more than 1000 pensioners.

In the parks and squares in each district of the city morning and evening classes on exercise therapy, fitness, yoga, Nordic walking with coverage of more than 2000 elderly people are organized. On the basis of the Council of Veterans, an eco-tourism club has been organized, which is already visited by more than 100 people. In the period from July to November, 20 weekend tours are planned to visit the Big Almaty Lake, the Boraldy Saki Barrows and others.

To compensate for the accessibility of infrastructure, like paid pools, gyms, dance studios, a social project has been launched to provide weekly access to physical culture and sports. Already purchased season tickets for preferential visits to swimming pools and fitness clubs for 800 pensioners.

In the next two months, the Internet portal Ata-Apa.kz will be launched, where all useful information about ongoing social and state programs and a special labor exchange for the elderly will be centrally located. For example, a pensioner who expressed a desire to provide tutoring services at home can apply by phone 1308 to the Longevity Center and leave his data.

Within the framework of the Roadmap it is planned to hold more than 100 cultural, sports and intellectual events to involve pensioners in active life in all spheres of the city's activity. For example, "Talent Contest", photo exhibitions "My Favorite Alma-Ata", as well as a specialized job fair for pensioners.

Today in Almaty live 222 thousand pensioners or 12.5% of the total population of the city. According to the World Health Organization, the practice of involving pensioners in active life is the most effective tool for improving the quality and duration of their lives.
