"We visited to Kazakhstan with a big delegation of businessmen representing different industries. The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen the partnerships and make the new ones. In Switzerland there are no minerals, therefore the country's economy is focused on the new technologies and the services. Almaty is a rapidly developing city, a city of youth, so a great potential for cooperation is in the development of start-ups. It’s geographical position and the developed infrastructure make Almaty a profitable starting area for the extension of business activities around the Central Asian region," said Johann Schneider-Amman.
During the visit to Almaty, B2B businessmen met with representatives of local business sphere. The Swiss delegation was also represented by the potential of special economic and industrial zones and projects realized within the framework of Smart Almaty.
It should be mentioned that in 2016, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the administrations of Almaty and Lugano, directed to the development of beneficial relations in the fields of trade, economy, science, technology and also for development of tourism and cultural exchange.
