Which street would you like to repair in Almaty?

So, in the line of the passenger transport and highways department in 2016, within the framework of an average repair 140 km of road cover were renewed in 196 streets. All the main streets and 80% of local roads had the current repair. 30.5 km sidewalks were done for pedestrians.

In 2017, more than 170 streets for 147.1 km had the medium repair. There was also built and repaired 37.5 km of sidewalks. In Shevchenko, Kunaev, Utepov streets and at 23 roundabouts, dismantled the old tramways in order to enlarge the road and 16.7 km of new asphalt concretes were done.

This year in Almaty, there was done the medium repair of 157 more streets for more than 155 km. In addition, along Makatayev, Baytursynov and Zharokov streets, a carriageway was expanded and a new asphalt was laid for 15.7 km. 30 km sidewalks were done for pedestrians.

It should be mentioned that while doing the medium repairs of the street-road network, three-year warranty is given by the contractor. During this period, the organization is responsible to correct any identified shortcomings and violations by his own expense.

On behalf of the Almaty’s executive committee,a special attention is paid to the sidewalks repair and irrigation ditches. Dismantling of unused structures and landscaping is carried out. Because of the pedestrian’s movement obstacles made by the illegal seizure of various outbuildings, there was a survey of sidewalks.

In parallel, this year three new traffic interchanges are being constructed to increase capacity on the small transport ring, the reorganization of several streets and the organization of a high-speed bus corridor, bridge structures are being enlarged, etc.

The reconstruction of the historic center of the city is being done by the construction management department. All underground ways were done by the district executive committees. If 500 yards were landscaped last year, this year more than 600 Almaty courts would be renewed.

In general, according to the department of passenger transport and highways today, road repair works have been completed in 123 streets. Until August 25, the medium repair will be finished in another 34 streets of the city.

You know that we also have the department of energy and communal services, which is very fond of digging and doing something.

In fact, this is a very responsible and laborious work that should be done. That people had light, water, heat, sewage. Only the last year almost 800 km of engineering networks were built and reconstructed.

Unfortunately, there are also unscrupulous contractors participating in an open tender, so somewhere there are failures, in the literal sense of the word. We naturally force them to do everything again within the framework of the guarantee obligations.

To eliminate identified defects on the roads, 4 contract organizations and 12 special teams were additionally involved.

After the modernization of engineering communications along 21 streets this year, an average repair of another 12.5 km of roads has been organized.

There is also a so-called patch repair. 175 thousand sq.m. city streets were repaired. By the end of the year, another 370,000 m2 of road surface will be covered.

Next year, the department of passenger transport and highways of Almaty is already beginning to formulate a work plan for 2019.

We expect to update even more than 150 km of city roads. By the principle of polycentricity, we go to all parts of the city. We will also focus on the lower part of Almaty. And we are counting on you, Almaty residents!
