A consortium of leading universities in the country is developing a model of a modern language

At a Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, the concept of artificial intelligence development was considered. Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek reported on the implementation of projects in the industry. As part of the execution of the President's instructions on the development of artificial intelligence, the ministry is collecting data arrays to develop a project for a large language model "KazLLM". As a result of collecting general data, a qualitative model of processing the Kazakh language will be created. In the future, this will help not only to improve automatic translation, but also to improve the quality and accuracy of text processing in the Kazakh language as a whole. To collect data, the Ministry has created a consortium, which includes the Institute of Information and Computing Technologies, Satbayev University, Nazarbayev University, NNPC "Til-Kazyna" named after Sh. Shayakhmetova, A. Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics and kaznu. According to the program of targeted financing of this project, the ministry announced a tender for a total amount of 3.9 billion tenge (1.92 billion in 2024, 800 million in 2025, 1.2 billion in 2026).
