The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, and the head of the Artificial Intelligence Department of Core42, Ali Khederi, discussed AI training and attracting Kazakhstani youth to world practice.
Sayasat Nurbek met with representatives of the leading Core42 company in the field of artificial intelligence and cloud computing. The goal is the development of artificial intelligence in universities, consideration of issues related to the training of software engineers, data processing specialists, the creation of a digital ecosystem of universities, as well as the exchange of experience in the creation of a National LLM.
The head of the department familiarized the foreign guests with the activities of the ministry and dwelled in detail on the opening of branches of foreign universities, the Bolashak international scholarship, the Coursera educational platform, and the digitalization of universities.
"Artificial intelligence is an objective reality that is increasingly found in all spheres of human life. In the field of higher education and science, this is necessary. Therefore, attention should be paid to young people and students. Already, world university rankings such as QS Ranking include the university's digital maturity index and artificial intelligence training. This gives us and the administration of each university a clear idea of the readiness of the educational institution for such a requirement. A project on digital universities has now been launched in pilot mode. Our mission is to create a truly digital ecosystem of the university," S. Nurbek said.
The Minister also suggested Ali Khederi to attract students of the last years of Yessenov University and the Kazakh-German Institute of Sustainable Engineering Sciences to practice at Core42. In addition, the Kazakh side expressed its readiness to provide the company with the necessary specialists.
Ali Khederi thanked for organizing the meeting and particularly appreciated the high level of education and talents of Kazakhstani students in Abu Dhabi. In their speech, representatives of Core42 noted the importance of the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the creation of Kazakh LLM.
