Pozharsky Street was renamed

Ideologically outdated Pozharsky Street, located in the Astana district of the city of Aktobe, was renamed in honor of the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Guard captain Otegen Turmagambetov (by joint resolution of the Akimat of the Aktobe region No. 154 dated June 9, 2023 and the decision of the regional maslikhat No. 32).

📍 Otegen Turmagambetov (1918-1998) — our warrior, who during the Great Patriotic War, starting with the Battle of Stalingrad, participated in the battles on the Kursk Bulge, participated in the liberation of Belarusian and Polish lands, put the end point of the war at the foot of the nest of the Nazis-the Reichstag and left his signature on its wall. He was twice awarded the Orders of the Red Star, 2 times-the "Patriotic War" of the 1st, 2nd degree and "Alexander Nevsky", awarded to officers for special merits, several medals, 8 times -a special letter of thanks from the commander-in-chief.

There is very little data about U. Turmagambetov in the Bayganinsky district of the Aktobe region. But renaming the street in his honor is another step towards glorification in front of his posterity
