On October 19, 2022, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a republican seminar "National Onomastics: search and practice" in Aktobe.

The purpose of the event is to discuss topical issues in the field of onomastics and develop proposals for improving the activities of the regions in this area.
During the event, issues were considered on the management of the list of "historical persons" in accordance with the methodological recommendations on the organization of onomastic work approved by the Republican Onomastic Commission, as well as on the implementation of the roadmap for renaming settlements and their constituent parts with ideologically outdated names for 2022-2025, the onomastic situation in the regions, as well as the upcoming one were considered important issues that require timely execution.
