The head of the farm "Eco Agro" of the Zheltau rural district, Artur Kofler, is one of the few entrepreneurs of the Aktobe region working in the field of fish business.
In just five years, he became a professional in his field. Now, he not only grows fish from fry, but also started the production of fry.
The successful result of the farmer was the result of the achievements of the independent state. The conditions for doing business are improving every year. Programs aimed at concessional lending and subsidizing business projects are in support of initiative citizens.
From 2016 to 2020, seven reservoirs were leased in the Kargalinsky district for fishing: the Kargalinsky reservoir, Chugaevsky, Buranovsky, Buranovsky-2, Chapaevsky, Alimbetovsky and Aschelisaysky.
According to the Department of Agriculture, according to the stocking plan, all reservoirs are annually stocked with the necessary number of fry, in accordance with the allocated limit. These activities are carried out on the basis of contracts. The working body under the akimat of the district, together with the regional forestry and Fisheries Inspectorate, monitors the fulfillment of contractual obligations.
The farm of Arthur Kofler conducts fish farming on three reservoirs – Buranovsky, Buranovsky-2 and Chugaevsky. In total, since 2017, the farm has stocked them for 30 thousand fry.
- Last year, we launched more than 13 thousand carp fry. We managed to transport about 5 thousand tons at one time, " says A. Kofler. - I equipped a gazelle, installed special oxygen equipment for the transportation of fish planting material.
As it turned out, the process of stocking is quite a complicated matter, it is not enough to bring the fish and release it into the reservoir. It is necessary to have knowledge in order to calculate how much fish is needed for a reservoir, what conditions must be created so that they grow and reproduce in their natural habitat. Arthur Kofler has someone to consult with. His younger brother Eduard is an ichthyologist by training.
In addition, their father is a business executive with extensive experience. The farm is a family business.
Arthur is always ready to share his accumulated experience, as his fellow fish farmers say about him.
By the way, Buranovsky-2 is the only reservoir in the Aktobe region where ripus fish from the salmon family is registered.
Artur Kofler brought 500 thousand ripus larvae from Petropavlovsk in the spring of this year and buried one of the reservoirs - Buranovsky-2.
- Before the new year, the larvae with a size of 2.5-3 millimeters should gain up to 100 grams in weight. Closer to the new year, it will already be possible to catch. The fish has very good taste qualities. It does not require a special approach, grows quickly, loves depth and coolness. Our reservoirs fully meet these conditions, " the farmer says.
The head of the farm shared another good news:
-This year we raised our own carp fry. To do this, a pond was made near the Buranovsky quarry, in the spring they received larvae from the breeding stock.
Recently, they also stocked Buranovsky with carp fry from the Kostanay region. At the end of September, they plan to release their own carp fry into the Chugayevsky quarry.
According to Arthur Kofler, the state provides great assistance in fish farming. This year, he received a loan through the Damu Financial Support Fund. The plan is to purchase a hybrid solar wind generator station in the amount of 3.5 million tenge within the framework of the "Enbek"program. The purchase application is under consideration.
