DUMK statement on holding a memorial service and funeral during the COVID-19 coronavirus

As you know, a viral epidemic is raging in the country. The number of infected people is growing, and there are many deaths. "Save-save" means that indifference to what threatens the world can affect not only ourselves, but also the lives of people around us.

1. in this regard, the spiritual administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, in compliance with the quarantine measures carried out in the country, in order to prevent the epidemic, calls on citizens of the country to comply with the following requirements regarding the conduct of memorial services and funerals, and to provide maximum support to the clergy: ⠀

2. perform ablution, drying of corpses, reading prayers and laying on the grave in accordance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements;
Persons participating in a memorial service, funeral business, wear masks, do not greet the handshake;
Conduct a memorial prayer for 5 minutes, instantly return people without much detention after the burial of the corpse;

3. do not take part in the memorial service for persons of retirement age, persons with weakened or ill health, and school-age children;

4. no more than 10 people, including all participants, should gather for prayer and for the grave .

5. do not hold a memorial service in public places;

6. stop work on raising the tombstone, erecting the mausoleum and its fencing and limit the mark on the head of the deceased;

7. stop gathering the population, eating after the funeral, seven, forty, year, etc. Until the epidemiological situation in the country is fully stabilized.
