Nurbol Panayev: religious literacy is not an Internet search
No wonder they say: "religion is what you can hold, what you can't hold." There are many of us who have mastered a very subtle and complex sphere, approached spiritual perfection, and joined the ranks of those who have chosen the straight path... this is primarily due to the lack of religious literacy and the paucity of searches.
In this regard, we turned to Nurbol Panayev, a specialist theologian of the information and analytical center "Ansar" Of the Department of religious Affairs of the Aktobe region, who received answers to many questions concerning the religious situation in the region.
- We know that a helpline has been operating at your center for several years. Who is contacting you and what questions are they concerned about?
- Yes, the Ansar information and analytical center has organized such activities in order to ensure the spiritual needs of the population and provide prompt information. For the last three years, the hotline has been connected to the Whatsapp service at the cellular number 8-776-074-07-00. Most people turn to this source of communication for convenience, rather than to a work phone.
So, last year we answered 800 questions from 600 people, and since the beginning of the year we have received about 300 questions.
Most of the respondents, of course, are young people. They are mainly divided by religion and traditions, Halal and Haram, " dombra Haram?"and questions related to prayer are of concern. In General, residents have a high interest in religion.
- Was there a particularly memorable case among those who specifically search?
- As I have already said, young people often come to us along the lines of religion. Among the fellow travelers there are also citizens who adhere to destructive religious trends. With them, the Center's specialists-theologians and psychologists-organize special individual meetings and are guided by religious beliefs. Information on traditional national values and Hanafi menu will be provided. For some, special religious classes are offered,as well as books.
