The Aktobe region fully meets, through its own production, the needs of the population for the main groups of food products such as meat products and processed products of grain and oilseeds, potatoes and some types of vegetables. The missing volumes for some types of food are supplied from other regions of the country and are partially imported.
To ensure food security, a balance of production and consumption by types of agricultural products has been developed. The population of the region is provided by its own production of basic foodstuffs, including meat, milk, eggs, bread, vegetables, potatoes, vegetable oil.
Out of 32 food products, the region provides itself with 13 types of products (flour, bread, pasta, cattle, poultry and lamb, milk and dairy products, eggs, butter, vegetable oil, potatoes, vegetables), and 9 types (5 types of cereals, rice, sugar, salt, tea) is provided at the expense of other regions, partly due to imports.

For residents of the region, the products of the stabilization fund have the opportunity to purchase at the Tabys communal market and 22 mini-markets located in Aktobe, as well as through social shops and trade pavilions 10-25% cheaper.
