The X Civil Forum will be one of the key events to be held as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence. President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan Banu Nurgaziyeva and Chairman of the Committee on Civil Society Affairs Madiyar Kozhakhmet told about its organization and holding during a briefing at the CCS under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The jubilee X Civil Forum "30 years of Partnership for the sustainable development of society and the state" will be held from November 22 to 26, 2021. The forum's events will be devoted to the development of democratic processes, the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Kazakhstan, as well as the main tasks of society, the state and business in achieving them. The Forum program covers a wide range of topics, interesting experts and participants. Also, more than 30 discussion platforms, expert discussions, facilitation and panel sessions will be organized within the framework of the Forum.
On the eve of the forum and during the week itself, meetings of ministers with representatives of civil society, meetings of akims with representatives of NGOs in the regions, presentation of mini-grant projects, as well as the ceremony of awarding the NGO Award and the Tandau Award will be organized.
According to Madiyar Kozhakhmet, the rich program of the forum will cover all kinds of problematic issues that have matured in civil society: from improving public control mechanisms to solving urgent problems of the social sphere, digitalization, education and healthcare systems. He drew special attention to the deep symbolism: "The current Civic Forum, which was initiated by Elbasy in 2003, is held under the sign of the 30th anniversary of our Independence."
In turn, the President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan, Banu Nurgaziyeva, noted: "The main idea of the country's largest event in the field of interaction between the state and the non—governmental sector is a global view of the civil society of Kazakhstan. We want to make an analysis of history, the present and a forecast of the future, taking into account topical issues of civil society development. The substantive program of the X Civil Forum will allow all participants to talk about systemic issues and solutions of joint cooperation between government agencies and NGOs."
The speakers of the briefing also said that, taking into account the need to comply with sanitary and epidemiological standards, the forum will be held in a hybrid format: offline and online. For example, 150 delegates will take part in the events to be held in Almaty. At the same time, thanks to the possibilities of using the online format of events, it is expected that more than 20,000 representatives of NGOs, government agencies, the expert community and the media from all over Kazakhstan will take part in the work of the X Civil Forum.
The online broadcast of the Forum week will be conducted on the Facebook page and YouTube channel.
